Herniated Disc Back Pain?

“When the discs that cushion the spaces between your vertebrae push out (Bulging Disc) from their normal seat in between the bones in your back they can press either directly or indirectly onto the nerves that exit from that level…. Chiropractic care will not only help to take the pressure off of the nerves being affected in your low back, but also restore the proper functioning of the muscles that protect your back from future injury.”

Herniated Disc Back Pain?

Do you have extreme low back pain that hurts every time you move? Does that pain radiate into your buttocks, and possibly even further down into your leg? Then you could possibly have a Herniated Disc in your low back.

When the discs that cushion the spaces between your vertebrae push out (Bulging Disc) from their normal seat in between the bones in your back they can press either directly or indirectly onto the nerves that exit from that level. When a disc is completely herniated, that means that the outer layer of the disc has torn and the inside is now pushing out into nerves’ space. When that happens not only could the disc put direct pressure on the nerve, but the internal contents cause considerable inflammation to the nerve which can cause extreme pain.

Sometimes Disc Pain in the Back can occur due to a severe trauma such as a car accident or sports collision. But the vast majority of events that result in a herniated disc are fairly minimal; from picking up a box while moving, bending over to tie your shoes, stepping awkwardly off of a step, or even picking up your child. This occurs due to a pre-existing dysfunction with the muscles in your back that you may or may not have even been aware of. The ultimate goal of care is to not only get you out of pain, but to also restore the proper functioning of your back muscles so that it will not happen again.
